SCRAPES
The Scrapes series reflects on spontaneous aesthetics through painting and collage, inspired by 1950s French affichistes and vibrant flowers colours. The artwork invites viewers to uncover rich details over time, showcasing a blend of renewal and past traditions. Built layer by layer with torn paper, each piece is fragmentary, marked by wear. Colourful and enigmatic, it offers room for interpretation and discovery.
TRIBAL MAPS
The Tribal Maps series refers to maps drawn by tribes to represent their hunting territories. The approach is rough, borrowing elements from calligraphy but favoring a chaotic style rather than a perfect gesture. Similar to the Scrapes series, the concepts of passing time and imperfections play a significant role. However, the approach here is primarily gestural and minimalist. The two series complement each other rather than oppose.
